Overview

Franko B is an Italian-born, London-based performance artist well-known among his contempories. His work is based on the bloody violation of his own body. He has performed at the Tate Modern, ICA, South London Gallery and Beaconsfield and has presented work internationally in Zagreb, Mexico City, Milan, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Copenhagen, Madrid, Vienna, Tate Liverpool and, most recently, at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels, Belgium and the Crawford municipal Gallery in Cork, Ireland. Franko B lectures widely, including at St. Martins School of Art, DasArt, New York University, Accademia Di Belle Arti and the Courtauld Institute of Art. Franko B was artist mentor at East End Collaborations - platform for emerging performance artists, run by Queen Mary College / Live Art Development Agency, London, annually from 2003 - 2008.
