Overview

When he took up birding during pediatric training, Dr. Edward Arenson had no idea where it would lead. When he began writing down his experiences, he hoped the process would offer a greater understanding of his passion for birding and, in due course, himself. Despite having a busy medical practice and a growing family, Dr. Arenson was accustomed to going on ""wild goose chases"" every few months to seek new birds and get away from the stressful routine as a neuro-oncologist.The testimony of his many and diverse experiences as a birder ""of limited skill but high motivation"" serves as an autobiography of sorts, beginning in his twenties. Author Information

Dr. Edward Arenson is a retired oncologist and neuro-oncologist. He lives in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, with his wife, Aura. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 11, 1945, the day before FDR died. He grew up in Toledo, Ohio, where he has been honored for lifetime achievements. He attended Cornell University, where he majored in English literature and specialized in early American writing. Dr. Arenson attended medical school at Drexel University and specialized in childhood cancer. He is the author of numerous scientific papers and book chapters, but Feathers in the Wind is his first non-medical effort.
