Outcasts of Orovoron is the first installment of a book series inspired by a YouTube series the author created in 2014: Experiment 42. Ace de Best (2000) created the story of Experiment 42 in 2014, using 'acting' toys on YouTube. She rewrote it a decade later as her debut novel Experiment 42: Outcasts of Orovoron, a YA, portal fantasy about found family surviving in a magical world. She lives near Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
