OverviewThe original Tacoma Narrows Bridge was completed in 1940 in Washington State. It was constructed to cross the Tacoma Narrows, part of Puget Sound, between the city of Tacoma and the Kitsap Peninsula. It was the third longest suspension bridge in the world at the time.
