Author Information

Charis Vlados (cvlados@econ.duth.gr) is an experienced academic with more than 30 years of teaching experience at various educational institutions. He is currently a Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Democritus University of Thrace. He obtained a Ph.D. with distinction from the University of Paris “Paris X-Nanterre,” where he developed the Stra.Tech.Man triangle to illustrate the interplay between strategy, technology, and management in the context of globalization. Charis’ teaching experience is diverse, encompassing topics such as Development Dynamics and Globalization, Innovation Economics and Entrepreneurship, and Corporate Strategic Analysis and Business Planning. He has authored over 200 works, including books, monographs, book chapters, educational material, presentations in conferences and scientific workshops with proceedings and scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. Spyridon A. Roukanas is Vice Rector of Academic and Administrative Affairs and Student Affairs of the University of Piraeus and Professor of International Political Economy at the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus. He graduated from the Department of International Economic Relations and Development of Democritus University of Thrace (2003). He was awarded his Master of Arts in International Political Economy from the University of Leeds (UK) (2004). He was awarded his Ph.D. at the Department of International Economic Relations and Development, Democritus University of Thrace (2008). He has taught as Associate Educational Personnel at the Hellenic Open University, at the Neapolis University Pafos and he has taught to the following Master Programs: “International and European Studies”, “Energy: Strategy, Law & Economics”, “BRICS: Economy - Society - Foreign Policy” and “International and European Policies on Education, Training and Research”, Department of International and European Studies, University of Piraeus, “Global Political Economy” and “Governance and Public Policies”, Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of the Peloponnese, ” Financial & Management Engineering”, Department of Financial and Management Engineering, University of the Aegean and ” SE Europe Studies”, Department of Law, Democritus University of Thrace. He was Lecturer at the University of Neapolis Pafos on European Political Economy and Governance, Visiting Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Relations, Center for International Studies (University of Oxford) and Special Scientist at the Department of Social Sciences and Political Sciences and the Department of Economics (University of Cyprus). His academic research focuses on Political Science, European Studies and Governance, and International and European Political Economy. He has completed post-doctoral research at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and at the Department of Political Science and International Relations (University of the Peloponnese). He received his doctorate in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Peloponnese with excellent. He holds a MA in European Studies from King’s College London, MSc in Political, Economic and International Relations in the Mediterranean from the University of the Aegean and a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration from the Panteion University (Athens). Georgios has also served as a consultant for the provision of technical assistance to the Greek authorities to support the establishment and implementation of an action plan for an effective SME policy in Greece at the Task Force for Greece (European Commission). Georgios held numerous fellowships and grands, including from the Centre for Hellenic Studies Anniversary Scholarship (Kings College London), and the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). Dr Andreas Masouras is an Associate Professor of Communication and Marketing in the Department of Economics & Business at Neapolis University. He holds a PhD with distinction from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of the Peloponnese. The title of his doctoral dissertation is “Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness through the Lens of Institutional Analysis: The Case of Cyprus,” which is available in the National Archive of Doctoral Dissertations. He coordinates the following programs: the conventional MBA, the distance MBA (English-speaking), and the MBA in Tourism (distance learning). He is actively writing scientific articles and participates in international conferences. His book, “Entrepreneurship in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises”, published by the American publishing house Nova, has been indexed in the Scopus book list. Ioannis Pappou is a researcher in the Department of Economics at Democritus University, focusing primarily on the environment and European environmental policy, with an emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises and business development. He graduated with a Master's degree in European Politics and Governance from Neapolis University and holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Athens.
