Knowles, Ph.D., is Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry in the Biological Laboratory of the University of Kent, Canterbury, England. Dr. Knowles received his B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Leicester in 1964 and his Ph.D. in biochemistry in 1967. From September 1967 to September 1969 he was a Postdoctoral Fellow of the American Heart Foundation at Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, New Hampshire, U.S.A. In 1969 he returned to Britain as a Science Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow for one year at the University of Warwick.
