She attended Homer Greek School in Oak Lawn and was one of the first Greek American teens who went to Ionian Village summer camp in Greece. These experiences, as well as her family's attachment to the Greek Orthodox Church community, instilled in her a sense of pride of her own Greek Orthodox faith and heritage. Angela wrote her first book, An Evening with Yiayia, after the birth of her first grandchild. Now there are two grandchildren she shares Greek words and poems with. When she isn't writing children's books, Angela lives in the Tampa Bay area with her husband Dan and teaches eighth grade at Carrollwood Day School. Angela is also a proud member of the Daughters of Penelope at St. Stefanos Church in St. Petersburg. Louise van Wyk is a Cape Town based self-taught artist and illustrator. She grew up in the Northern Cape, studied graphic design and worked full-time in the printing industry for over 20 years. Louise believes in seeking out what is beautiful in the world and endeavors to create art that evokes positive emotions in the viewer. She is particularly interested in the effect of light on a subject and relating an illusion of detail without painting in detail. As a visual storyteller, she believes each subject deserves its own individual approach, and prefers not to be tied down to a certain style or theme. https: //louisevanwyk-art.co.za Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
