Overview

Strange balls of light haunt the night skies over Half Moon Bay, and two young girls are on a collision course with evil when people begin to spontaneously combust. Eighteen-year-old Claire Weatherly flees Cincinnati, Ohio for Half Moon Bay, CA when her family dies in a mysterious fire. She hopes by reconnecting with her aunt and uncle she can out run her grief, her guilt, and death itself. But she quickly discovers that Half Moon Bay isn't her salvation. Seventeen-year-old Lucy escapes imprisonment from a house outside Half Moon Bay when a red ball of light attacks and incinerates her captor. She's been praying for salvation and at first believes the ball of light is the answer to those prayers. But after witnessing the carnage, she doubts the ball's intent and runs for her life. It's only by luck that the two girls find each other and form a bond of inseparable friendship, trust, and love. Together they must solve the mystery of the balls of light and discover their evil intentions. Together they must put an end to the fiery holocaust plaguing Half Moon Bay. Together they must overcome and survive these Days of Fire and Ash.
