OverviewWelcome to the new and improved second edition of Daring Dexter, a story on how aviation sparks change in a rescue dog's life. This elevated version features text and illustration adjustments. It also shares professional photography of the main character, rescue dogs Zeke and Dexter, and the author, Erin Mariah Murphy, in her pilot role. The second edition's text and illustration changes intend to connect deeper with readers. It provides an excellent perspective on how aviation helps dog and cat adoptions nationwide. Daring Dexter loved roaming the streets. He was free to collect bones, make art, and show off his swagger. He thought he had it all, but did he? Beginning with a rescue flight, follow along with Daring Dexter and his new friend Zeke as they explore the joys of rescued animal life. It is a humorous picture book that celebrates those who dare to change. This comical picture book is based on actual events and shows how many shelter animals experience freedom flights within their adoption process. Halfway Home is the debut book by international pilot-author Erin Mariah Murphy. Daring Dexter shares more of homeless dogs helped by aircrews, except this time, it includes homeless cats. With a new narrator voice, Daring Dexter isn't a true series with Halfway Home. However, Halfway Home fans can enjoy seeing a more confident Zeke as he relates to street dog and artist Dexter in a tale about the brotherhood that encourages change. This found-family story is ideal for adoptive families, big-hearted aviators, and those who want to cuddle up with a furry companion to read. Daring Dexter is a delightful read for all ages, traditionally for ages 4-8, alternatively for ages 4-dog mom or 4-dog dad. Daring Dexter is such a heartwarming, fun story that's entertaining for both adults and kids. My son is almost two years old, and this book quickly became one of his favorites. It is read at least once a day! He loves Dexter and his buddy Zeke. Recommend this book for any animal-loving family!"" Happy Customer ""I loved everything about this story. Written from the perspective of the reluctant rescue Dexter, it captures perfectly what I imagine must be going through the minds of pets being rescued. The story was wonderfully written and captures all aviation rescue elements. Surely, it is an eye-opener for those who may not know all involved with aviation rescue flights. It is written for children but is worth reading for young and older alike who are interested in animal rescue. This should be in every library and Elementary School!"" Happy Customer ""Daring Dexter "" is a compelling book for kiddos and adults interested in canine rescue missions. The narrative centers around Dexter, shedding light on the significance of animal welfare efforts and how aviation plays a crucial role in saving dogs awaiting adoption into loving homes. This book profoundly impacts all age groups by exploring themes of empathy and courage. In today's society, Daring Dexter symbolizes optimism, illustrating the transformative influence of love and determination within the enduring relationship between humans and animals."" Happy Customer Author InformationErin Mariah Murphy is the author of Daring Dexter, an airline pilot, and animal advocate. Literary seeds were planted when Erin adopted her first rescue pup, Zeke, and volunteered with animal air-rescue services whereby at-risk animals are efficiently moved from overcrowded shelters to shelters with more resources by air transports. Erin has been flying airplanes since she was fourteen years old. It was not until she was established at a legacy major airline that she volunteered with her local SPCA. So, it wasn't until midlife that she saw the magnitude and frequency at which at-risk animals were rescued through air transports to safe havens. Inspired and head over heels in love with her first adopted rescue pup, Zeke, she enrolled in picture book writing courses. After fostering 10 dogs over 6 years, Erin foster-failed her second rescue pup, Dexter, and published Daring Dexter. I hope Daring Dexter inspires the next generation of pet advocates, aviation lovers, and foster/adoptive families. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
