OverviewThis paper describes dance as a non-verbal, body-oriented approach to supporting the positive development of unaccompanied refugee minors, who, due to their psychosocial situation, present particular challenges for social work. Dance, which contributes to people's well-being, can also support the inclusion of refugees in society and help build relationships between social workers and clients. This is described in more detail using the community-oriented Community Dance concept. This thesis explains trauma-specific expertise, the fundamentals of dance as a method in social work and community work, and the enhancement of the therapeutic relationship between social worker and client. The conclusions describe the possibilities for implementing dance in practical social work.
