She holds a bachelor's degree from Loyola University in sociology, a master's degree from Tulane University in education administration, and has a twenty-year career in the public sector as an administrator and planner of human service programs. She is also a published poet and essayist. Her written works can be found in various anthologies, reports, and journals.
