OverviewJan Niklas Puller presents a proof of concept for a V2X-based intersection assistance system that enables drivers to avoid potential collisions with vulnerable road users, especially cyclists, at urban intersections. The work integrates cooperative communication and accident data analysis to develop a functioning prototype that actively raises driver awareness of possible conflicts at an early stage. An innovative combination of predictive algorithms and a dedicated human–machine interface supports timely, intuitive driver intervention. The results give an outlook on how such cooperative safety functions can be implemented in series vehicles in the future.
