Conversations at the Table: The Complete Parenting Guide for Raising Children Who Feel Heard

Overview

Every child needs to feel heard. Every family wants to be the reason they do. Conversations at the Table is not a traditional parenting book. It is a full-color, visually immersive guide that walks families through the conversations that shape how children see themselves, organized by three developmental stages, each with its own color-coded section so families can go directly to the age that matters most right now. The moment you open this book, you will see something different. Bold graphics, emotion-driven visuals, conversation frameworks laid out on the page so you can see what to say and how to say it, practical application pages, daily practice guides, A-to-Z conversation strategies, implementation toolkits, communication circles, guided reflection prompts, and transformation exercises designed to be used, not just read. This book meets families where they are: at the kitchen table, in the car, before bed, in the middle of an ordinary day. Inside, families will find three complete age sections for 5 to 7, 8 to 10, and 11 to 13 year olds, because the conversations that build connection look different at every stage and families deserve tools that meet them exactly where they are. At the heart of this book is one truth: children are often carrying emotional weight they were never meant to carry. That weight comes from unmanaged reactions, unspoken expectations, and the everyday ways adults place their emotional needs on children who are not equipped to hold them. This book gives families the awareness to recognize that pattern and the language to change it. Conversations at the Table is built on two foundational frameworks. EVO 50(TM) is a framework that helps families understand the emotional weight children were never meant to carry and the relational conditions shaping a child's experience. Team-Based Parenting(TM) is the practice that helps families build critical thinking, autonomy, and self-confidence in their children through everyday conversation. Together, these frameworks give families not just a way of thinking but a way of speaking, responding, and showing up every day. This book is the companion resource to The ABCs of Team-Based Parenting(TM) Family Journal for Kids. Together, both books give families everything they need to raise children who feel heard.
