Overview

Conversando en ingles has been designed to develop fluency in spoken English among native Spanish speakers. It helps ESL learners progress easily from passive knowledge of basic grammar patterns to active, fluent use of these patterns in everyday communication. The lessons focus on one or more common sentence patterns and move coherently from the simple to the more colloquial and complex. The patterns are presented in clear, easy-to-understand diagrams that eliminate the need for long and tedious grammar explanations. The dialogues that follow the diagrams put the grammar and new vocabulary to practical use. Topics covered by the dialogues include asking for and getting directions, likes and interests, and travel. The new vocabulary is presented phonetically and is grouped by topic. Exercises provide practice and reinforcement of vocabulary and grammar.
