Author Information

Boying Li is an associate professor in the School of Political Science and International Relations at Tongji University, China, and is also an adjunct research fellow of the Institute of China and World Studies at Tongji University. Professor Li completed her doctoral degree in economics from the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a master's degree in agricultural economics from the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, University of California, Davis, after having completed her bachelor's degree in economics at the School of Economics at Zhejiang University in China. Professor Li's research interests are political economy, international trade, environmental politics and policy, energy economics and policy, and empirical research methods. Professor Li has published one academic monograph called A Study of Improving the Enforcement of Environmental Regulation through Strengthening Bureaucratic Accountability. Professor Li's recent work has appeared in many prestigious Chinese and English academic journals, including Resources, Recycling and Conservation, Economic Systems, Journal of Cleaner Production, and many others. Professor Li has also chaired the research programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Foundation of China and hosted several provincial and ministerial research projects. Professor Li has been honored as a Shanghai Chenguang Scholar. Jianxun Shi is a professor of economics at the School of Economics and Management at Tongji University, China. He has two additional positions at the university: the director of the school's Institute of Finance and Economics and the deputy dean and chief expert of its National Institute of Innovation and Development. Professor Shi is also the chief expert for major projects at the National Social Science Foundation of China, the deputy chairman of the Shanghai Society of Finance, and the deputy chairman of the Shanghai Society of World Economics. Professor Shi's research focuses on political economy, macroeconomics, and international finance. His research has won many awards, including first prize in the outstanding achievement award for philosophy and social sciences in China, the prize in the outstanding achievement award for philosophy and social sciences in Shanghai, and many others. Professor Shi has published over one hundred articles in various newspapers and magazines and has published 22 academic books and textbooks.
