He then worked for five years as a research fellow at Sussex University, studying freshwater ecology. Since then, he has followed what he calls his 'real interests' - watching, writing about and photographing wildlife. Since making this career change some 20 years ago Paul has written and illustrated more than 30 books and illustrated many more.
