Overview

This modern-day fantasy follows young friends and their adventures in a magical land featuring fantastic creatures and weather-related themes. In this seventh installment, Jane is held hostage by her weather mentor to force Cloudland to create a colder climate. But things get totally out of hand when someone on Darkland changes the Northern Lights into living light monsters. Alone in freezing Greenland, battling sea creatures raised by a giant waterspout, and fighting a crafty villain in a cavern on Darkland are some of the challenges the kids will face. They must stop this weather madness but also meet the even greater challenge of keeping Cloudland a secret. Young readers will enjoy the mix of science and magic with this larger-than-life adventure.

Author Information

CHIP HILL is the author of the CLOUDLAND series about a magical world hidden from our eyes in the clouds. He received his Aerospace Engineering degree from Texas A&M University and two master's degrees, which he used to pursue three careers: Air Force officer, senior manager for technology companies, and leadership positions in Texas A&M Engineering. His recent retirement has enabled him to focus on the Cloudland books and other creative efforts, including a teenage Christian musical. Chip and his wife Carmel live in College Station, Texas. They are the parents of three children and grandparents of five, who are the inspiration for these stories.
