Author Information

Mark Knoblauch, PhD, LAT, ATC, CSCS is a clinical associate professor and clinical coordinator of the Master of Athletic Training program at the University of Houston in Texas. He has been certified as an athletic trainer since 1996, and has worked clinically at both the university and junior college level. Mark received his PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Houston and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where his research focus was on skeletal muscle damage and signaling mechanisms. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association (SWATA) and is a site visitor for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. As a professional he has been involved with several committees for the NATA and SWATA, and has written several books in the areas of diet, fitness, and vestibular disorders, as well as served as editor of the book Professional Writing in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine.
