Author Information

"Meredith Angwin is a passionate advocate for clean, safe, affordable nuclear energy. Her pioneering work in favor of nuclear energy has been called ""legendary"" by other pro-nuclear advocates. She also works to protect the interests of electricity consumers (that is, all of us). In this role she serves on the Coordinating Committee for the Consumer Liaison Group of ISO-NE, the New England grid operator. Meredith holds an MS in physical chemistry from the University of Chicago. In her research career, she was inventor on several patents in pollution control for fossil fuels and did extensive work in corrosion control for nuclear plants. Meredith was one of the first women project managers at the Electric Power Research Institute, starting in the renewables group and later moving to the nuclear group. She founded a small company that consulted on corrosion control and water chemistry. Her clients included natural gas pipeline operators and fossil, nuclear, and renewable power plants all over the world. Her nuclear advocacy work includes writing, speaking at hearings, and organizing rallies. For this work, she received a President's Citation from the American Nuclear Society. Meredith publishes at her own blog, Yes Vermont Yankee, on the Energy Northwest blog, and on the American Nuclear Society blog, ANS Nuclear Caf. She also publishes in nuclear industry trade magazines and local newspapers."
