Reviews

""Candace Beckford weaves a gut-wrenching tale of betrayal, desire, and regret. Chocolate's perfect world unravels because of the choices she makes, and it forces her entire family to pay for her grave mistakes.""-Katrina Mackrides, author of The Salty Swan Saga ""Bitter Chocolate, Sweet Grace is an unforgettable journey into the dark side of a seemingly perfect life. This novel will grab you and won't let go as it explores the depths of betrayal, the desperation of a fractured family, and the incredible power of a mother's love. A raw and thrilling story of redemption that will stay with you long after you've finished.""-Adam J. Thompson, author of Hard to Keep Happy: How to Maintain Lasting Joy in Challenging Times ""In Bitter Chocolate, Sweet Grace, Candace Beckford deftly explores the themes of sin and forgiveness, and the dance between the two. Her characters are complex and contradictory, making them human and relatable. No one is perfect, everyone is flawed, but at the end of the day, Beckford asks the reader to consider the power of love-love that is expansive and at times irrational-but also redemptive. Bitter Chocolate, Sweet Grace is a visceral meditation on the ties that have the power to bind or break us.""-Alfredo Botello, author of 180 Days: Infidelity. Architecture. Punk Rock. Clonazepam. ""Bitter Chocolate, Sweet Grace does not shy away from the darker sides of human experience. At times unsettling, the story explores the difficult space between betrayal and forgiveness, justice and love. Beckford invites readers to wrestle with the same question her characters face: when confronted with evil and betrayal, what does grace really look like?""-Ken Sansom, author of Dark Cloud ""Bitter Chocolate, Sweet Grace is a beautifully written and emotionally resonant novel that pulls you in from the very first page. The characters feel authentic and lived-in, especially Chocolate, whose inner struggle to rediscover herself after years in ""mom and wife mode"" is captured with striking honesty. The rejection scenes are raw and deeply relatable, while the warmth of family, faith, and real-life conflict creates a powerful balance of tenderness and truth. At its heart, this story thoughtfully explores what it means to redefine yourself when the world has forgotten who you once were-and that question lingers long after the final page.""-Everett Collie, EC Media Group LLC ""Bitter Chocolate, Sweet Grace is a captivating novel that delves into the challenges of love and the power of forgiveness to restore what has been broken. This novel will broaden your horizon on the vicissitudes of life and elevate your consciousness on the deeper meaning behind grace. A must read.""-Jason Mills, author of Love Conquers All and Wounded Soldier ""Bitter Chocolate, Sweet Grace is a deeply moving and emotionally layered story that captures the raw realities of pain, identity, and healing. From the very first pages, Candace Beckford draws readers into a world where vulnerability meets resilience, and brokenness becomes the soil for transformation. Chocolate's journey reflects the silent battles many individuals face, especially when carrying emotional wounds rooted in past experiences. There is a powerful message woven throughout the book: even in life's bitterness, there is still sweetness waiting to be discovered.""-Dr Anthia Wint, holistic practitioner, holistic spiritual healer, author, and educator
