This book deals with one of the most prominent and promising developments in modern Translation Studies--the sociology of translation. Tyulenev develops an original way of applying Luhmann's Social Systems Theory to translation, viewing translation as a social-systemic boundary phenomenon. Sergey Tyulenev holds a PhD in Linguistics and a PhD in Translation Studies. He is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Cambridge. He is interested in the history and sociology of translation. He has published two monographs and numerous articles in translation theory. He also edited dictionaries.
