Author Information

Rossana is a Senior Lecturer in HRM and OB at the University of Exeter Business School, with over 20 years’ experience in UK higher education. She has directed Business Management programmes at both the University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth, leading large, diverse cohorts and delivering high-impact modules in IHRM, general management, and graduate skills. Her academic interests include IHRM, curriculum design and skills development. She co-developed the University of Exeter’s Skills to Thrive and currently serves as Induction and Transition Coordinator and Wellbeing Champion for the school. Rossana was the recipient of the 2023 Course of the Year award and a 2022 nomination for Academic of the Year. A Senior Fellow of the HEA, active member of BAM and book reviewer for Sage, CIPD and OU, she is committed to nurturing academic, personal, and professional growth through innovative and reflective learning — the core focus of this foundational text. Chris is a Professor at the University of Exeter Business School and a Trustee and Member of the People and Nominations Committee for The Royal College Occupational Therapists.She is a Senator at the University, the Director of Education and Student Experience for the Management department, and the Educational Director of the Exeter Centre for Leadership (ExCL). She also leads the OBHR group. Her research centres around Sustainability in the workplace.  Having begun her teaching career in Key Stages 1 & 2, she is an award-winning educator and Qualified Teacher (QTS), Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE).
