The labia majora has transitional histological feature-sensitive areas and complex anatomical structures, such as fascia, erectile tissue, and adipose components, connected to crural pelvic and perineal structures. Minimally invasive or surgical procedures must be correctly selected according to the complaint and anatomical characteristics. Due to the lack of standardization, guidelines and nomenclature related to the aesthetic and functional concerns of labia majora, this book intends to propose an algorithmic approach to balance the anatomy, patient expectations and the overall aesthetic appearance of the vulva. Pablo Gonzalez-Isaza, MD, urogynecologist, is a private consultant board certified of advanced female pelvic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. He is president and founder of the Asociacion de Ginecologos Esteticos Colombianos (AGEOC) and pioneer of Female Cosmetic Genital Surgery in Colombia. Dr. Isaza is also an assistant professor and coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Aesthetic and Functional Gynecology and Cosmetic Genital Surgery of Women at Institute of Continuing Education from Universidad de Barcelona. His areas of interest are labia minora hypertrophy and anatomical variants treatment, and he proposed a classification and written the first series of labia minora hypertrophy treatment with multi pulsed CO2 laser. Dr. Isaza is author and coauthor of scientific articles and book chapters related to cosmetic and reconstructive gynecology. He has 15 years of experience and has trained more than 300 gynecologists and plastic surgeons around the world with the use of lasers in cosmetic gynecology.
