Reviews

I ve known Dr. Abdul Al-Azzawi since the early days of college level Photonics Education in Ontario. The world of Photonics manufacturing is critical to the functioning of our modern society. It s great to see such an exhaustive range of topics taken on in his latest book! Alexander McGlashan, Niagara College Dr. Al-Azzawi draws on his vast industrial experiences to provide a comprehensive look at the essential technologies for manufacturing high-quality fiber optic cables, connectors, couplers, and active switching devices. The fundamentals of industrial production are described in detail and modern methods for continuous improvement are discussed. Dr. Al-Azzawi moves beyond traditional manufacturing textbooks by stressing practical solutions and time management skills in a competitive high-tech manufacturing environment. The book serves as an introduction to the practical aspects of fiber optic manufacturing and a guidebook for evaluating other high-tech manufacturing enterprises.
