The story begins in the Bronx in 1952 when Debbie Lynn Zwiebach was born, having won her first art award at age nine with her work published in the New York Times; her gift was apparent to all. She attended the High School of Music and Art then receive a BFA degree from MICA, graduating in 1973. She has been exhibiting in one woman and group shows since 1972. Her work has been featured in major motion pictures and published in newspapers in New York and Baltimore. Her work has also been featured on WJZ TV 13 and in New York on PBS WNET13, in a documentary called Artists Evolved . Most recently, her colorful aquatic images are on permanent display at the Johns Hopkins-Bayview campus for the Pediatric Emergency Department. She is an accomplished illustrator and has produced a series of work depicting local Baltimore landmarks. Her artistic style has evolved through a process of artistic improvisation. Debbie Lynn describes her work as doodles turned into art . In recent years she has worked predominantly in pen and ink, utilizing acid free colored pens to create the illusion that the piece is actually a painting. As Debbie Lynn describes it, she is painting with pens . No matter the subject or medium, the common denominator to all of Debbie Lynn's work is the attention to detail and the use of creative patterns.
