Shaheed Abdul-Hakim grew up in Brooklyn, New York, with proud Afro-Caribbean roots and a big role as the oldest of five brothers. From a young age, he naturally stepped into leadership, always helping and inspiring others along the way.He earned his degrees from CUNY Queens College, double majoring in Economics and Middle Eastern Studies, and picking up a minor in Arabic. Later, he completed his Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) at Relay Graduate School of Education.Now, Shaheed is pushing even further - working toward a Ph.D. in Education Technology with a focus on Curriculum Development, combining his love of learning, innovation, and service.Outside the classroom and beyond the books, Shaheed loves making music, staying active through sports, and spending time with family.He lives by a simple but powerful motto: ""Treat others how you'd like to be treated - and then some.""Zuri's Journal reflects Shaheed's lifelong mission: helping young people see their power to change the world with empathy, action, and heart.
