In his younger years he worked for Olson/Walker Architects in Seattle, Mario Campi in Lugano, Andrea Roost and Franz Oswald in Bern. In 1990 he founded the office B Architekten in Bern with friends. In addition to his work in the office, he is active in various expert commissions and juries. Since 2015, he has been teaching as a professor of architecture and urban design at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, where he also supervises research projects in the competence area Dencity - Urban Development and Mobility.
