Overview

Der Phaidon ist unter Platons Dialogen von besonderer Bedeutung: sein Hauptanliegen ist, die Unsterblichkeit der Seele zu beweisen. 'Vorspiel' zu den entsprechenden 'Beweisen' ist das Thema des Sterbens. Sokrates erklärt im Dialog apologetisch: der in Philosophie sein Leben zubring-ende Mensch sei gerne bereit zu sterben. Auf diese Apolo-gie wird nun im vorliegenden Band eingegangen, wobei insbesondere die Argumentationsstruktur (der Dialog gilt als 'Platonisches Labyrinth') analysiert wird.
