Meet the literal boss from hell. Mizuchi, once a human, died, went to hell, and became an unruly demon. Though he’s not just any demon: he’s a foreman with underlings who make up a motley crew. With a magic sword and super strength, some hellish construction work should be a snap, but Mizuchi and his crew are hellbent on doing anything aside from their work. Originally self-published in 2020, Zigoku’s Foreman is an ongoing series, that tells its hilarious underworld tale through an arrangement of manga and short prose chapters.

9banta is a manga artist and web designer based in Japan. She has been drawing since she was three years old and always had a knack for offbeat designs - drawing people with limbs sprouting from their heads and demons. She is known for drawing animals and shirtless male characters, and enjoys fussing over outfits and accessories. In 2018, she became obsessed with One Punch Man and started drawing fan art of the series daily. In 2020, she participated in a Twitter hashtag prompt called “#CharacterDesignMashupGame,” where she came up with the character design for a demon foreman based on nine prompts. Her creative partner, Hiroki Kamishiro, wrote a short story based on the character and setting he came up with, which became Zigoku’s Foreman, a comedy-fantasy manga set in a construction site in Hell. The world-building in Zigoku’s Foreman is inspired by Buddhism and kabuki, which are both topics she enjoys researching.
