Dianne and Dean DeLoach are both Early Childhood Educators for Portsmouth Public Schools. Dianne, with 28 years of experience, is currently serving as a Virginia Preschool Initiative Specialist. She holds a Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University. Dean is a retired Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer with 21 years of service and a retired Early Childhood Educator and Administrator with 25 years of experience. He is currently a substitute teacher for the Portsmouth Public Schools Pre-K program. Dean holds a Master of Arts in Teaching Early Childhood from Norfolk State University. Dianne and Dean reside in Portsmouth, VA. They were both inspired to write this book by their grandson Ezekiel, who is on the Autism Spectrum Scale, and by the wonderfully diverse students they have worked with over the years.
