Overview

Jay Black Bearington, a brooding were-bear necromancer terrified of his own powers; Faye Nova, a sharp-tongued telepath with a past she can't escape; and Nami, a trigger-happy earth witch with a very short fuse, are the Z-Listers. They are a trio of supernatural private investigators just trying to make rent in a world that barely acknowledges their existence. Their luck seems to change when they land a high-profile security job for the influential and beautiful River Goddess, Sunny. The task is simple: protect her daughter, Emma, during her sixteenth birthday party. However, the celebration is a cover for a sinister plot, when Emma is kidnapped, the Z-Listers are thrown into a conspiracy that threatens to shatter the fragile peace between the factions of the supernatural world. Now, they must navigate a web of betrayal, facing off against a vengeful were-king, a power-hungry fire witch, and an ancient vampire with a mysterious agenda. To save Emma, Jay is forced to confront the dark beast he keeps locked away, a past life of bloodshed that is directly tied to the enemies they now face. As Faye's past comes back to haunt her and Nami is pushed to her breaking point, the Z-Listers must learn to trust each other before their inner demons tear them apart.
