1:1 Yn y dechreuad yr oedd y Gair, ac yr oedd y Gair gyda Duw, a Duw oedd y Gair. 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:2 Yr un oedd yn y dechreuad gyda Duw. 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. 1:3 Trwyddo ef y gwnaed pob peth; a hebddo ef ni wnaed dim a wnaed. 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 1:4 Ynddo ef yr oedd bywyd; a'r bywyd oedd goleuni dynion. 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 1:5 A'r goleuni sydd yn llewyrchu yn y tywyllwch; ac ni'i hamddiffynodd y tywyllwch ef. 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 1:6 Yr oedd dyn wedi ei anfon oddi wrth Dduw, a'i enw oedd Ioan. 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 1:7 Daeth hwn yn dystiolaeth, i dystio am y Goleuni, fel y credai pawb trwyddo ef. 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 1:8 Nid efe oedd y Goleuni hwnnw, ond fe'i hanfonwyd i dystio am y Goleuni hwnnw. 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
