Overview

FIVE WAYS TO MAKE A KILLING TRUE FREE ENTERPRISE Provide an article or service for sale and charge more for it than it cost to produce. Assumes level playing field, fair competition, ethical practices. Obsolete. A myth. MONOPOLY AND CARTEL Grow big enough to distort the market to your own advantage. PROFIT ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE Place the profit motive above all contenders, such as community welfare and development, individual growth, human values, etc, etc. CORRUPT AND EXPLOIT THE ENVIRONMENT Have the power to be completely indifferent to the way in which your activities are exploiting and damaging the earth, its people and the environment. CORRUPT AND EXPLOIT THE PEOPLE Extend this exploitation to the minds and welfare of citizens, particularly of the young. The first of these approaches is a fairy tale and the second we can live with. Quite literally, we cannot live for much longer with the growing combination of the third, fourth and fifth. Their impact on the world must be reduced and preferably eliminated and replaced. Now what kind of a nut would take on the Profit Motive? Who does he think he is, and how does he think this crazy dream could be achieved? Buy Yours fatally, Profitism and find out. Author Information

. . All my life, along with probably millions of similarly afflicted poor sods, I have been convinced I was born to make an impact on the world, and this in the face of all evidence to the contrary. Talk about ego. Now it's getting a bit late. Born in Western Australia I was bullied in primary school. I had few friends - fellow outcasts - and was extremely socially incompetent. Against this - and no compensation - I was a brilliant student until puberty struck and to say I went pear shape academically is an understatement. Subsequently I had many experiences which suggested I truly was special, but again fear and indecision stopped me from succeeding in any of the green pastures into which I was given a dream opening. At 23 I started university studies as a mature age student, and was then an academic psychologist for 11 years. When this ended I became an organisational psychologist in my own practice until a few years ago, when I was forced to conclude that what had limped along for 35 years had ground to a halt. I have done semi-skilled odd jobs for the past seven or eight years, during which time I wrote Become happy, Stay happy and Yours fatally, Profitism. On the way through to the present two events changed my life and made it worth living. In 1974 I met my now wife Wendy (Lakshmi) and in 1988 met my Guru, Swami Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. What happens now is up to this book and its companion title, Become happy, Stay happy ... and you. And God.
