You Think They Wanted Revolution: The Historical Significance of The Forgotten Attack On Fort William and Mary

Overview

On December 13, 1774, Paul Revere rode 60 miles north from Boston to Portsmouth, New Hampshire with letters from the leaders in Boston addressed to a merchant in the town of Portsmouth. The letters said the British troops were coming to take possession of Fort William and Mary and the gunpowder therein. The outraged citizens of Portsmouth went to the fort, exchanged gunfire with the soldiers there, overtook them, took down the king's colors and stole the gunpowder and cannons and sent them upriver. This was four months before Paul Revere's infamous ride to the citizens of Lexington and Concord. Four months before the beginning of the American Revolution. Was the Battle of Lexington and Concord really the beginning of the American Revolution? This book details the consequences of this event. The reaction of Parliament, King George III and our Founding Fathers. This book explains why this event is not included in today's American History.
