Melinda Gibbons studied Fine Art at New York University and has a BFA and a Masters in Secondary Art Education. She has been teaching art in Massapequa, NY for over 20 years. Melinda enjoys reading to her students and helping them build literacy skills at a young age. She decided to write a children's book as a way to encourage her daughter to grow up strong, independent, and kind. She lives in New York with her husband Daniel and their baby daughter, Jemma.
