He believes that stories reveal the universal values that we all share. He has enjoyed a long career of organizing words in creative ways as an English teacher, curriculum specialist, magazine publisher, book editor, and long-time meditation teacher. He has won awards for journalism, newsletter writing, and teaching, and makes his home in Fresno, Calif. Gwenna Merriman has an MA in Scenic Design from California State University Fresno and a BFA in Drawing and Painting from Boise State University. She was the Production Supervisor for the CSUF Theatre Arts Department for 20 plus years. she has at various times been an art teacher, sign painter, muralist, and a Summer Theatre Arts technician in lighting, scenic painting, and props. She has illustrated several books including The Cat's Purr Fables by Michael Neer which won Silver & Bronze Medals in the Readers' Favorite Award Contest.
