Overview"Almost every living person dreams during sleep; yet, few take their dreams very seriously, relegating them to a mixed salad of sights, sounds, and circumstances; if they are remembered at all. This book is about using ""Art-Making"" as a ""Stream of Consciousness Process"" to help recall more details of an extremely mind-expanding and potentially life changing ""Dream"" that I had...over twenty years ago. It was a dream which forced me to re-evaluate several preconceptions that I had concerning my place in the Universe. But, the part of the dream which affected me the most and has stayed with me for all these years, is the ""Message"" that was contained within the dream...meant not just for me, but for all of Humanity. With this book, I'm trying to put a ""Face"" with the ""Message""." The second of identical twins (2 min.); preceded by an older brother; by five years. Very rural upbringing in Dorneyville, PA; where all roads, except the main highways, were still unpaved dirt, there were still plenty of ""woods"" full of animals, grassy hills, miles of orchards filled to capacity with various kinds of delicious fruits, and cornfields that seemed to stretch to the base of the mountains that formed the Lehigh Valley. My education consists of: Catholic Elementary and Jr. High School, Public High School, Lehigh County Community College, and Massachusetts College of Art. There, I majored in Painting; taught by the highly acclaimed George Nick and minored in Graphic Design at an ""off-campus"", downtown, Boston studio called, ""The Graphic Workshop"". The teacher was the famous Artist and Social Activist Rob Moore and the other ""Workshop"" students were all talented, hard-working, determined, creative and amazing people. I graduated college in 1975, stayed in Boston until 1979 when my wife, Mary, and I moved to Vt. where I first worked as a silkscreen printer, then as a continuous web lithographic pressman, back to silk-screening, then Computer Numerically Controlled industrial machining and, finally, specialized ""Optical Coating"" using state of the Art Vacuum Chambers with laser guided measuring systems and magnetically controlled electron beam arrays to vaporize the chemicals for the coatings. In 1998, I sorrowfully had to leave my job due to a bad case of MS. Since my retirement, I have pursued my Art in my home studio" Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
