Xiang Yun is a Singaporean actress from MediaCorp. She is considered as one of the veteran actresses in MediaCorp with 27 years of her career in the Singaporean entertainment industry. She is also deemed as MediaCorp's first Ah Jie (elder sister). Xiang Yun married Edmund Chen in 1989. In the mid-1990s, a third party appeared in their marriage, which was rumoured to be local actress Cynthia Koh. The couple did not divorce and re-took their marriage vows in 2002. They have a son and a daughter. Xiang Yun is one of the first batch of graduates from Singapore Broadcasting corporation's drama training class. She began her career in children's drama in 1980 and proceeded to act in the drama series Double Blessings and All That Glitters Is Not Gold in 1983. She made her mark for her role in the blockbuster drama series The Awakening in 1984.
