Xóchitl: Crowning Heart is a poetry collection for a daughter on the threshold of fifteen, and for the girls, women, and femmes who will recognize themselves in her becoming. Rooted in Mexican and Mexican American inheritance, these poems move through migration, labor, family, quince ritual, brown girlhood, tenderness, grief, courage, and self-making.
