Overview

This text presents tutorial and reference documentation for several X Consortium standard extensions and conventions and utility libraries. Many of these are new in Release 6, or have been standardized since Release 6. The author covers the session manager, interclient exchange (ICE), Xmu (miscellaneous utilities), and XPM (pixmap file) libraries, as well as ICCCM (interclient communication conventions) and XLFD (font naming) specifications. Adrian has worked as a programmer writing educational software in C and as a mechanical engineer designing offshore oil spill cleanup equipment.
