She specialises in the cultural history of early modern travel, cultural encounters, and the self- and life writing of early modern mobile people. She is the author of two books, Jews in the Early Modern English Imagination (2011) and British Encounters with Ottoman Minorities in the Early Seventeenth Century: 'Slaves' of the Sultan (2022).
