OverviewWrist trauma remains one of the most common orthopedic conditions that present to the emergency department. In particular, the distal radius fracture is a common injury, but treatment decisions still remain controversial and are often based on surgeon experience. The bone quality and amount of comminution associated with this injury has made surgical fixation frustrating. There has been an explosion of new implants to try and overcome these problems.
