OverviewThe book begins with my work on Conchita, the Mexican mystic whose writings became a deep source of consolation and inspiration during the painful period in which I uncovered the truth about the Sodalicio. From there, the journey moves into my engagement with David Tombs’s perspective on Jesus as a victim. His theological insights were pivotal for my own theological journey and healing, opening a way for me to understand Jesus’ victimhood not as passive suffering but as a transformative revelation of God’s solidarity with those who are wounded. Tombs’s work offered me a lens through which I could begin to theologize from the experience and perspective of survivors themselves. This journey then led me back to a renewed engagement with Latin American liberation theology, which strengthened my voice as a woman, a survivor, and a Latin American theologian. Gradually, my academic and pastoral attention focused on the abuse of religious sisters, culminating in research, international workshops, and the Kuibuka initiative.
