Overview

"AN ILLUSTRATED GUIDE TO WWII FOR EVERYONE This illustrated guide to World War II (WWII) is a primer on the war for everyone, young and old. WWII ended over 75 years ago, but it changed everything! There was much more to the war than fighting, like remaking the world for all time! We live in a ""post-war"" world with its good stuff like rockets, computers, and jets, but also its ""baggage"" like racism, crazed dictators, arms races, cold wars, and nuclear bombs. WWII is a part of our nation's DNA! WWII was colossal, mind-boggling and it's everywhere you look! This book is a concise review of the 28 major events of WWII. The humorous, irreverent style connects the conflicts in the war to what's going on now. Each of the 28 sections has a full page, color drawing by the author in his original doodle art style. His color cartoons of the war have comic touches that bring the war to life for young readers. ""Free doodles"" decorate many pages. WWII is not just the history of the Greatest Generation, it's part of life for Millennials, Gen X, and Gen Z!"

Author Information

"Kenneth ""Dumbfounded"" Burres is ten years old! Since he could hold a pencil, Kenneth has been a compulsive doodler. He doodles everywhere, anywhere, and whenever, especially when he's supposed to be doing something else. His doodles have this unique style of characters and designs that express his ideas, which only he knows. He is the only doodler in the family. His younger brothers, Stuart,7, and Kyle, 3, don't doodle. Kyle can barely hold a pencil. Likewise, Kenneth has an obsession with history. especially U.S. history. He's finished middle school and high school-level history courses online. He's seen every movie and video you can imagine about WWII, from ""Midway"" to Ken Burns. Kenneth combined his two passions to write and illustrate this book about World War II. It's the story of WWII as Kenneth sees it. Kenneth is a sixth grader in the School for Advanced Studies (SAS) in Los Angeles, where he is a year ahead. He speaks Spanish and German. Kenneth's favorite sport is fencing, where he competes in foil and saber. Kenneth also likes swimming and karate. Now, he's developing his ""Dumbfounded"" comics which you can visit at iamdumbfounded.com. His favorite thing is hanging out with his family, where he mostly doodles.Meet Kenneth and learn more about his project. Visit www.worldwartwokenneth.com"
