As I've counseled with thousands of business leaders, I have noticed several areas of great spiritual need. The most noted, however, is how to be a steward rather than an owner. Recognizing that God owns it all is easy to verbalize, but difficult for many to implement. There are several symptoms of this spiritual struggle, including: A lack of generous giving to God's work from business profits. Businesses becoming more and more dependent upon lenders, rather than God, for their funding. Business leaders partnering with unbelievers in business, violating God's principle against being unequally yoked. 24/7 service, without a moment to rest our weary bodies, or to worship and listen to God. Let's now contrast the above typical business model with God's view of work. Imagine being in a job or business because you are confident God designed you, and called you, to bring Him glory through your skills in the workplace. From that calling, consider what it would look and feel like if the output from that calling was such incredible quality that people stood in awe of the finished product or service. Instead of people running from doing business with you when they hear you are a Christian, imagine them being thankful for the opportunity to do business with a company with impeccable integrity -- a company that treats their employees with respect and dignity, gives generously to kingdom work, trusts in God rather than lenders, and leads with integrity and courageous faith. This study is about helping you turn the corner from wondering if you are a second-class Christian without a ministry, to becoming a high-impact Christian businessperson who is known throughout your region as a refreshing beacon of light for the Christian community.
