Ziegert and Sullivan analyze data from the 1995-2020 March Supplement to the Current Population Survey and Columbia University's Supplemental Poverty Measure project, the latter reflecting an alternative measure of poverty developed by the US Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
