Reviews

[Words Their Way] provides a major contribution to the field. It is superb for preparing teachers at the pre-service level and also supporting teachers at the in-service level.. Teachers will find the sorts very useful and can use them for whole class instruction, small group guided reading, differentiation, stations, and for one-on-one purposes. - Dr. Vassiliki Zygouris-Coe, University of Central Florida The outline of the spelling stages--the descriptions and examples of the writing samples - help the readers understand the stage and expectations of students at that particular level. [Strengths include]... The different kinds of sorts and information about English Learners throughout the text. - Dr. Stephanie Wessels, University of Nebraska - Lincoln I really like the examples it gives of activities for each type of speller. They are laid out for the reader/teacher and make it easier to implement... - Keely Cahalane, Great Oak Elementary School
