Patrick Leigh Fermor was born in London in 1915. After a failed initial attempt at becoming an author, Leigh Fermor left London to see the world. His books include the classic A Time of Gifts, Between the Woods and the Water, and A Time to Keep Silence. Artemis Cooper was born in 1953. She is the author of Cairo in the War, 1939-1945 and other acclaimed books. Rolf Potts is the bestselling author of Vagabonding. He has written for National Geographic Traveler, Outside, The New Yorker, and the New York Times Magazine.
