Table of ContentsReviewsExpect a lot more Wonder Woman fans after a few issues of this book. --USA Today This is clear storytelling at its best....It's an intriguing concept and easy to grasp. The reader doesn't need to know that much about Wonder Woman because she is, well, Wonder Woman. --The New York Times It's a different direction for Wonder Woman, but one still steeped in mythology, and I think this is the start of great things from Azzarello and Chiang. --The Onion AV Club There's actually a lovely balance between being just wordy enough and going mute to let the art do the heavy lifting. And let me tell you, Cliff Chiang's art does said heavy lifting with nary a grunt. He handles suspense, gore, and action all with aplomb. His line-work is loose enough to avoid being static, and yet maintains a confident line. -- Ain't It Cool News Expect a lot more Wonder Woman fans after a few issues of this book. --USA Today

This is clear storytelling at its best....It's an intriguing concept and easy to grasp. This reinvigorating new status quo is one I have certainly welcomed and is very new reader friendly. What I have enjoyed most in the new Wonder Woman series is the focus returning to the Gods of Olympus. I love stories about misbehaving Gods and the Greek Pantheon is far more mischievous than any other. Jealousy, rage and hubris fuel their every decision and the consequences are terrifying. Caught in the middle of a brewing war of the Gods is a young woman named Zola who is carrying the unborn child of Zeus. In her mission to protect this child, Wonder Woman will quite literally embark on the wedding from hell. The new design for Hades is incredibly creepy! There is palpable sense of creative energy bursting on every page, as the creative team of Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang have reached a harmony of story and art that makes for some truly entertaining and compelling reading. Chiang's character designs deftly reflect the personalities that Azzarello has written, which pay homage to the ancient stories that inspired them. Amongst the 52 new books DC Comics now publish, Wonder Woman for me easily sits at the top of the list. It embraces the ideas of heroism and sacrifice that I love so much in fantasy fiction, the art is emotive and vibrant - I need volume three now!
