OverviewProvocative, uncompromising and visionary - Women and Sex is the book with which Nawal El Saadawi has shaken up an entire generation. In a unique combination of personal commitment, medical knowledge and political clarity, she exposes the mechanisms of sexual and social oppression of women in the Arab world - and beyond. She speaks with a courageous voice about female sexuality, genital mutilation, religious dogma and patriarchal power. This book is not just a feminist classic, but a call for liberation - sharp, passionate and terrifyingly topical. A must-read for anyone interested in justice, body autonomy and real social change.
